Documentaries to look out for!
As suggested earlier in the term there are a plethora of fantastic Documentaries.
What have your favourites been so far? Why? Which ones are True? Which are dramatised? Are there any differences between the two?
Remember that you are looking to identify a range of different elements and styles of documentary. Explore how these films were received by audiences both when they were released and today.
Here are a selection of some you should have watched already.
If not crack on!
Documentary Season 2017
Moving away from the coursework and focussing on the exam based units it is time for us to re-focus on the elements of Documentary. Although we started earlier in the year with Bowling for Columbine and some of you have watched a number of others it is now time to start documenting and analysing some others.
From this week forward can your weekly films all be Documentaries please?
We started this week with the Oscar Award Winning
UNDEAFEATED (2011) - Dir. D.Lindsay/T.J.Martin
As usual I look forward to reading your A2 Film analysis on this piece underlying the details of the style of documentary, the approach taking by the film makers but also the production details of this film. Please remember that this year is all about depth and that context is king.
Lets Play Ball!
Deadline 15th November 2017
BFI London Film Festival 2017
So some of you this year were lucky enough to travel to the BFI again this time for the London Film Festival 2017.
We got a chance to see the NEW BRITISH SHORTS programme with a variety of different films from some exciting Film Making Teams.
Hopefully you had a good opportunity in the Q&A session to find out the journeys of the Filmmakers and it has help to plot your own route and impact or influence how you create your own shorts for this years coursework.
It was another great day and opportunity and ALL the students represented themselves and Coulsdon 6th For College impeccably.
I can't wait until next year.
Small Scale Research
Well that first term seemed to fly by and was mainly dominated by all thoughts on your Small Scale Research coursework.
We had what i hope was a successful trip to the BFI Research Library to enhance your earlier drafts of your coursework.
Some of you achieved your deadlines in terms of getting the work in. A lot of the early drafts moved on significantly.
Well done to those of you who put in the extra effort to get the work in to a high standard prior to the deadline.
KEEP IT UP!
