BFI London Film Festival 2017
So some of you this year were lucky enough to travel to the BFI again this time for the London Film Festival 2017.
We got a chance to see the NEW BRITISH SHORTS programme with a variety of different films from some exciting Film Making Teams.
Hopefully you had a good opportunity in the Q&A session to find out the journeys of the Filmmakers and it has help to plot your own route and impact or influence how you create your own shorts for this years coursework.
It was another great day and opportunity and ALL the students represented themselves and Coulsdon 6th For College impeccably.
I can't wait until next year.
Small Scale Research
Well that first term seemed to fly by and was mainly dominated by all thoughts on your Small Scale Research coursework.

We had what i hope was a successful trip to the BFI Research Library to enhance your earlier drafts of your coursework.
Some of you achieved your deadlines in terms of getting the work in. A lot of the early drafts moved on significantly.
Well done to those of you who put in the extra effort to get the work in to a high standard prior to the deadline.
KEEP IT UP!

Training Day
In my absence today you have the opportunity to catch up with yourselves.
Please complete the question 6. that we started yesterday on World Cinema: Power, Poverty and Conflict.
When you complete these tasks peer assess each other's work, please be honest with each other as constructive criticism is an invaluable input to improving your work.
Scan and upload the results to your blogs.
When this is completed ensure that your coursework and blog entries are all up to date.
DEADLINE
DEADLINE
I am aware how much I have impressed upon you that Film is not science but a part of the Arts however we do need to try and adapt our Creative process to meet DEADLINES.
The DEADLINE for your Production element of your coursework is due Tuesday 31st January!
BFI FILM ACADEMY
For the third year in a row Coulsdon 6th Form College have had students that have applied and been accepted to the BFI Film Academy a saturday school run by Eastside Education.
The Students in attendance this year are Seb Black and Ed Auld.
They have attended talks and workshops over half terms and weekends since October 2016 with Industry professionals surrounded by like minded students from across London to produce a short film.
I was lucky enough to be in attendance last weekend to see the films and the awards ceremony.
As ever I was pleased for the boys and proud as punch.
The A2 Film Students continue to punch above their weight and produce content that continues to impress me.
Well Done the Boys!
